I am thrilled to be adding KiddyKeys to my teaching curriculum. I love the unique features of the KiddyKeys program. I decided to become an instructor when I discovered through my research that I was going to be able to teach piano to children as young as two years of age. It literally was music to my ears! I am very passionate about teaching. It is my life. I can't wait to start sharing my knowledge and know-how with these little people pleasers! I have always enjoyed teaching group piano lessons to preschool aged children. They are enthusiastic, learn easily and have a wonderful sense of pride in their accomplishments. I find them to be a delight to work with. This new venture is an extension to what has already been a focal point in my career. My intent as a KiddyKeys teacher will be to draw on my thirty two years of active experience and begin opening up all of the wonderful doors of music. My students will learn by example and patience and from each other. I will give them the tools and skills they will need for continual progression.

One of the most important gifts I feel that I have given my students as their piano teacher was the gift of self -esteem. It has always been my goal for them to leave their lesson feeling better about themselves than when they arrived. Building self-esteem is a cornerstone of the way I teach. It has proven over and over again to have a huge payoff. Students with high self-esteem do better and try harder. My KiddyKeys stars can expect the same and they will have greater success. They will KNOW they are stars. My program will center around focused learning activities at an unhurried, enjoyable pace. My students will learn each skill and concept I introduce in numerous ways. They will find learning is and can be fun.

I grew up in the state of Washington on a desolate asparagus farm. The piano quickly became my very best friend. I knew I wanted to pursue a music career when I revised a solo into a duet when I was in eighth grade. It got me thinking of all of the possibilities! I went on to college as a music major. The skills I learned has provided me with the best career I could ever hope for. I love what I do. Each day brings something new for both my students and for myself. Music is a beautiful form of magic that I have been fortunate enough to share with others. When I teach a piano lesson, I know that I am giving my students a skill they can use and enjoy for the rest of their lives. As their teacher I feel privileged to have been part of their journey.
